2011 Nissan GT-R Base Model Dropped for North America
Nissan has released details about the US-spec 2011 GT-R.
The biggest change is the elimination of the base model, which was priced from $80,790 (in the 2010 model year). For 2011, the sole model is the $84,060 GT-R Premium (a $1020 increase over the 2010 GT-R Premium). Options include ‘Super Silver’ paint ($3,000), ultra-high performance tires (no charge), floor mats ($280), and a cold weather package (no charge).
Besides the revised pricing structure, the 2011 GT-R has a retuned suspension, strengthened rear bushings, darker wheel center caps, and a thicker layer of clear coat on the front and rear fascias. Other updates include auto on/off headlights, speed-sensitive windshield wipers, USB/iPod/Bluetooth connectivity, and a navigation system with XM NavTraffic and NavWeather capability.
The 2011 GT-R is currently on sale at select Nissan dealers.
